SILICA |
| Diatomaceous Earth (Solum Diatomeae) | In the primeval seas lived diatomaceous algae whose silicic acid skeletons sank to the seabed when they died. These skeletons formed the diatomaceous deposits found today. From diatomaceous earth we obtain a powder base which is rich in silicon dioxide and strengthens hair and skin. Diatomaceous earth is also used as a cleansing agent in toothpastes. |
SILICA ACID |
| Silica, Hydrated Silica | Silicic acid obtained from quartz sand is used in powders or, on account of its viscosity regulating properties, as a thickening agent in cosmetics. As a natural component of connective tissue it can firm and strengthen the skin. Water-rich hydrated silica gently cleanses the teeth. |
SILICA GEL |
| Hydrated Silica | Water-rich hydrated silica gently cleanses the teeth. Silica is involved in many of the strengthening and firming processes in the human body. |
SILK POWDER |
| Silk (Serica) Powder | Silk powder consists of the finely ground silk threads of the silkworm caterpillar. The silkworm larva spins its cocoon with a very long protein thread. This thread is reeled from the cocoon and cleaned. The result is a silk thread which, once ground to the finest powder, readily takes up moisture. It nurtures and smoothes the skin. |
